Prof. Bokkie Blaauw is a pioneer of Biokinetics in South Africa, having founded the Stellenbosch University Biokinetics program in 1986. He has coached athletes in rugby, athletics, cycling, and kayaking, mentoring Springboks and even a 1000m world champion. The first Biokineticist to tour internationally with the 1992 SA Rugby Team, he was honoured for his outstanding contribution to the profession. Today, he continues to inspire through his deep passion for sport, mentorship, and advancing biokinetics nationwide.
Becky grew up in Zululand with a lifelong love for sport, especially hockey, where she represented both Natal and the SA Ladies Masters Team. With over 30 years in biokinetics and a Master’s degree cum laude from Stellenbosch University, she specialises in orthopaedic rehab and works closely with athletes of all ages. Passionate about helping players recover and perform at their best, she also holds a brown belt in karate and brings energy and dedication to every patient she supports.
I am dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships within the healthcare network, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. I have a passion for all sports and thrive on encouraging young and old to reach their full potential.
As a father of three – family and community empowers me to connect with people as I facilitate their recovery to independence; improved function; or optimal performance.
Illana specialises in orthopaedic rehab and Parkinson’s care, with a deep belief that movement is medicine. Her work is fuelled by compassion, aiming to help every patient improve strength, balance, and mobility. Dedicated to supporting individuals of all ages, she believes no one is ever too old—or too injured—to move with confidence again. Outside the clinic, Illana is a proud hockey mom to three children and can often be found cheering from the sidelines.
Luke’s passion for sport drives his work in biokinetics, where he helps athletes and active individuals return to play stronger than before. Competitive, outgoing, and always ready for a challenge, he thrives on motivating patients to push their limits. With a particular interest in athletes and return-to-play/return-to-sport programmes, Luke combines technical skill with personal encouragement to support every step of the recovery process.
Ian thrives on helping patients navigate their rehabilitation journey, celebrating both challenges and achievements. He has a special interest in cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, hip and knee orthopaedics, and lower back pain management. Active by nature, Ian enjoys travel and the outdoors—though he’s equally happy under a blanket on rainy days. His patient-focused approach blends guidance, encouragement, and tailored strategies to ensure recovery is both effective and empowering.
Mila is a water enthusiast with a background as a professional lifeguard and a love for surf skiing. Passionate about helping others become the strongest versions of themselves, she values meaningful connections with patients throughout their rehabilitation journey. Combining her active lifestyle with a patient-centred approach, Mila is dedicated to guiding individuals toward improved health, fitness, and confidence in their movement.
Elbe’s passion for movement and meaningful recovery drives her work in biokinetics, where she helps people improve function, rebuild confidence, and return to the activities they love. Compassionate, dedicated, and highly personable, she thrives on guiding clients through rehabilitation with encouragement and purpose. With a strong interest in geriatric care, clinical rehabilitation, and functional training, Elbe combines technical expertise with a genuine commitment to every patient’s progress. Her approach blends evidence-based practice with personal connection, supporting each client step by step toward better movement, greater independence, and improved quality of life.
Kirsten is passionate about helping people regain confidence in movement and achieve their health, rehabilitation, and performance goals. She enjoys working with individuals from all walks of life and believes in creating a supportive environment that empowers patients throughout their journey. Outside of the practice, she loves spending time outdoors – whether exploring the bush, relaxing at the beach, travelling to new places, or enjoying sport. Her passion for movement and adventure inspires her approach to biokinetics, where she strives to help others live active, healthy lives and return to the activities they enjoy most.
Jessica plays a key role in the day-to-day management of the practice, overseeing appointments, medical aid claims, financial administration, and operational processes. Her attention to detail and efficient approach ensure a seamless experience for both patients and staff, allowing the clinical team to focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
